Received a call from this number on my cell. Didn't call back from that number. Called from another business landline. Someone answered, "this is Sam. Thank you for calling me back today." I hung up. I just wanted to see if the number would be answered.
Caller ID says "Petersburg VA". They leave no message.
I did not call them back.
Others here have said that somebody with a last name of "Morrison" is calling. I searched 800 notes for that name. Lately there have been a bunch of calls from the Fraternal Order of Police from <changing first name> Morrison. I have yet to encounter a national police call which I don't consider to be a SCAM.
Interestingly enough there are a lot of other calls from an Officer Morrison. Basically, if you don't cough up money right away, he will come and arrest you (a variant of the IRS SCAM).
Looks like the scammers are lazy, unoriginal, or both. Perhaps they can use a nice Irish officer's name. Might go well with some scammers thick Indian accents.
