when they call do one of two tactics: either way get someone live on the phone, tell them you need to get your care number, put your phone on mute and leave it until they hang up. You have some satisfaction of wasting their time.
Second method: get a portable air horn (like you see at sporting events) tell them you will get you card -- blast you phone with the horn. Immediate satisfaction and they hang up. You may not stop them, but it certainly makes me feel better.
Brothers and sisters if we all strike back they will fear someone answering the phone.
THE BAD NEWS: Card Services calls aren't going to stop anytime soon.
THE GOOD NEWS: You can retaliate, reduce the misery, and even have some fun.
RETALIATE: Waste these turkeys' time. Keep them on the line by acting like an interested prospect. Give them bogus data, including a combination of two different credit card numbers, scrambled Social Security digits, and a modified ZIP Code. Important: provide a credit card company's real 800 number.
After they call the credit card company they will call you back and you can give them the same credit card info as before with two of the numbers transposed, thus causing them to make a second verification call. Or you can respond, "Guess what ... H-O-O-N-N-K-K [from a $6 air horn] you've been PRANKED! Call back tomorrow for more bullshot."
Now they're the butt of your joke. REDUCE THE MISERY:
Unfortunately, Card Services will keep calling from new spoofed numbers, which eventually should motivate you to retaliate.
HAVE FUN: Turning the tables on the perpetrators with mischievous deception and the news they've been duped provides instantaneous vigilante satisfaction. Plus you serve your fellow call recipients by slowing down this evil operation's efforts to defraud them.
EVERY ONE DO THIS AND MAYBE WE CAN TURN THE TIDE. RISE UP BROTHERS AND SISTERS -- STRIKE BACK.

Have had plenty of these calls from Rachael at Card Services. Federal GOv get off you [***] and stop this crap. This is not the first time I have complained to you about this.
I see these kinds of posts all the time. Wasting their time is probably the only good suggest you have here. The idea that annoying them by using an air horn is nonsense. Your going to damage your hearing in the process of trying to annoy them. The volume on the remote end is won't be all that high, and some of the higher-end headsets simply cut out the noise.
As long as some people are gullible enough to sign up and there is no government intervention the calls will keep on coming. If you want to make an impact gather data up from your calls. Find out the company name, where they are located or valid telephone numbers. That would actually be useful in help tracking down the agencies that are doing this.
