I literally activated my phone about 30 minutes ago and I received a call from this number claiming I had a warrant out fit my name and SSN. It was jarring for a moment, but luckily before I did something stupid I Googled the number and discovered this site. Thanks for the heads up.
The call stated that "this is to notify you about a federal complaint which is filed against your Social Security number. There are three serious federal allegations has been filed against you on a notarized arrest warrant to be issued against you within these coming two hours, So I want you or your attorney to get back to us on our number 813-667-6822." I called the number back and got an India Indonesia male over voice mail asking me to leave my name and number and they will call me back this has SCAM WRITTEN ALL OVER IT.
This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
I just received a call from them as well...here is the visual voicemail of the message the scammers left me with a computer generated voice (obviously the translation is off, but you get the point):

If you failed to respond to this voicemail and if we find another complaint to urinate. We would not be responsible if you get arrested entertained on this charges as your Social Security number is under state Legal Investigation."
They called me saying the exact same thing. Never been in trouble before. And i do have a payday loan out....but not w/ these bimbos calling. so I was pretty shaken up when I realized I am NOT the only one who is experiencing this issue. Do not give any personal info out. I called back the number like a fool and it was a recording.
