Call blocker is your best bet. Also don't pick up on unknown numbers. Also the DNC list is meant as a guide
to law-abiding telemarketers. It will not stop outright criminals. Many of these calls are intitiated by hardcore scammer/extortionists in India and Pakistan. They cannot be stopped. They can be blocked.
We never answer numbers we don't recognize so they are out of luck. The minute I see a number with 0000 tells me its a telemarker of some type. They also didn't leave a message. It's a pain with all these telemarketing calls.
On the occasions I have accidentally answered a call from this number, there is nothing but silence until the dial tone starts. They invariably call when I'm asleep (I'm on-call 24/7). This caller has run my "Missed Calls" count very high.
These people are extremely rude!!!! They start talking about penelec and when you explain you don't have penelec they call you names and use profanity. This is harassment
