I received the same call yesterday at work and was very, very scared. Although, I knew that they didn't deposit any funds in my account I was a little nervous because they had all of my personal information. Especially when he mentioned the part about coming to my home today and arresting me. Trust me that was the last thing that I needed to hear on a busy Friday afternoon at work. I was so happy when my Daughter thought to Google the number and she found a list of numbers that came up unknown and my Girlfriend also Googled the number then I knew at that it was a scam when I read all of the messages to see that I wasn't alone. People like this should be put in jail and then throw away the key. What do we do from this point?
Read my previous post. The FBI tells you in their press release what you need to do, including:
Notify your banking institutions.
Contact the three major credit bureaus and request an alert be put on your file.
Contact your local law enforcement agencies if you feel you are in immediate danger.
File a complaint at www.IC3.gov.
It happened to me as well... at work was the worst---they just kept calling! Patrick McDonald was one name and Frank Rivers was another! I really hope someone catches these creeps!
I recd a call from these dumb [***]. He said his name was Mark Harris. They have called me before from a different number so I new it was a scam. I told him that I new it was a scam and they are not getting anything from me. And that my husband was a police officer and we would make sure there info gets out to the FBI. He really had the nerve to ask me the number to the FBI so he could call them. He finally got mad at me and just said you will go to jail and I hope you have 5000.00 for atty fees. lol
