I received the same call threatening me and of course the have never provided any documentation. They say see you in court and hang up. The # is 818 351 8965. i received a call from these people with threats of a lawyer and they had my personal information such as
social security and wanted me to confirm it which I did not!!! when I told them I was turning them over to the states attorney's office they hung up on me, I tried calling back to get an address and got a voice mail that was full. the person that called was a thomas johnson then he transferred me to a jeremy jones......both sounded middle eastern/indian or asian/phillipino and I told them that I reversed their number and found out that they are scam artists but they proceded to leave me a lengthy voice mail before I picked up.
you can try, doubtful they are even from california, they are probably using a voip such as majic jack, and once they know you are on to them hopefully they will stop calling, then contact the state attorney's office in your locale.
