I keep getting calls from them too!!! I finally answered, after their thousandth call, but they just hung up. This is some serious bull and I'm tempted to go postal on them.
The number 830 255-4348 continues to call my cell phone and asks to speak to Amanda? I said, who is calling since many calls are coming in from this number. It is a nuisance, who is calling? who is 820 255-4348
Have new phone service and have already started getting these calls. Placed my number on DO NOT CALL LIST and will pursue action with Missouri Attorney General office on 32nd day...takes 31 days to be effective. These o Not CALL fines in missouri are very expensive for violators. ill also call my new carrier to see if this number can be blocked from my number.
I get 2-3 calls a day from this # labeled "Carrizo Spri TX". It seems to have started out of the blue, nothing new or different I can think of that would have caused it but they are relentless even though I don't answer. Finally called back after I had enough and received a machine saying "You've reached a text plus customer, please type your phone number for the recipient to be notified..." Good luck with that!
Or you can take this approach if someone is actually on the other end when they call and you have time on your hands to have a little fun with them...
- (#1 Telemarketer Nightmare - Tom Mabe)
http://www.soundboard.com/sb/Telemarketers_prank_calls.aspx
Others worth listening to on the same list...
- (#3 Automatic Dialer is pretty good also)
- (#5 Credit Card Rate)
- (#8 Arnold Schwarzenegger Answers) - just a bunch of recorded phrases from movies you can do with any celeb/character on the computer...separate into 1 sentence per file and click as you wish to respond
- if you recognize the # as a telemarketer or once you pick up and can tell, take the role as the telemarketer yourself that called them and try to sell them something - long distance phone service/kinda outdated, med or auto insurance, credit card, pet insurance/even better if they say they don't have a pet/convince of future need 'pre-pet insurance'/or try to sell them a pet, make up a product, donations for a fake cause/or yourself, etc, ...convince them that you called them from your job or home.
- Or just start chatting with them like a friend about their/your interests/cry to them for help with relationship problems, act really interested like they'll get a sale if they deal with you and just keep putting them on hold to answer door/find loose pet/check a weird noise, switch laundry, whatever you can think of to annoy and waste their time, like they do with you. Just don't do or say anything illegal...probably best not to say you are an official representative of a real/well known company that could create trouble for yourself, although chances they'd waste their time with that are pretty slim!
- If you call back and get a telemarketer's voicemail and it lets you record, leave an *outgoing* voicemail to confuse them - which let's face it, is easy to do with most. Ex: "Hi, this is Tony. I appreciate your call but I'm unavailable at the current time. Please leave your name, #, reason for calling and I will get back to you as soon as possible. (maybe add-in: "As a side note, I'd like to acknowledge & thank everyone who supported me and helped me through my recent legal troubles. As a result, I have learned to recognize and deal with my violent tendencies, which I failed to admit to in the past. I truly couldn't have made it through to this point without you! With your help, I have grown and learned self-control, hopefully meaning the end of these behaviors so we all can move on. At any rate, thank you...leave your message and I'll speak with you soon.) Have a good day! Recorded BEEEEP...
* Remember, this is just a one-time outgoing message left on their machine and nobody calling you is actually going to hear it...so go crazy.
If they keep calling, might as well have fun with it...!
