I received a call from this number and it was a man wanting to collect on a 15 year old debt. They were offering a 90% discount on the bill so I thought this would be a good opportunity to put another good mark on my credit. I agreed to pay off the balance over a 6 month period and they were happy with that. The man was a little rude as we went on but I assumed it was because he had a thick accent and I had to keep making him repeat himself. I was late for the doctor so I asked him to please call me back to set everything up. He did call back yesterday but I was away from the phone (thank god) {no offense to anyone}
because he left me a message but then forgot to put his phone back on the cradle correctly and to my utter amazement his "accent" dissappeared. They were all laughing and cutting up in the background in perfect english and I even heard one man ask "did you get a SSN?" Then I heard a lady shush everyone then start her speil in her thickest fake accent to somone else. Don't ever trust another company trying to collect money by phone. I lost a job 15 years ago and had a lot of debt which I could make no more payments on. I have found that all legit collection companies can keep up with you thru your credit report and will mail you any offers they have to make to clear up old debt. So it is my advice to never deal with any collectors who just call you out of the blue unless it is the company you owe money to directly. I hope noone else loses money to these people. Lets get these crooked people with no ethics shut down;.
Thanks for posting this, very interesting reading. Wouldn't put it pass domestic criminals trying to put the blame on foreign criminals. No honor among. But as always, get it in writing. Not by phone, fax, email, text.
Called looking for my husband, were rude, only identified themselves as SRG but would not tell why they wanted him or what the company did. Annoying pests.
