Called from "Oldies Radio" wanting me to identify myself. I told him he had the wrong number. He tried again, this time telling me what my name was. I muted the call and he hung up.
Got a call this morning from them asking for money to help them promote a Memorial Day salute to the troops. While I always salute the troops I don't pay scammers to do so. She said the station was out of Plano, TX and I am a business in Garland, about 12 miles east, and that it is a local station. So, why are they are not calling stations in Plano? Spread the scam baby.
"Cassie Finley" has called on several occasions wanting to sell on-air ad time for our local radio station but our business manager has always been unavailable. When she called back today we almost did buy an ad but she apparently did not like being put on hold and she hung up. Out of curiosity, I googled the phone number and found these reports. I contacted our local radio station and they absolutely DO NOT have an affiliation with this number. I can't wait until she calls back. Waste MY time AND try to scam the tiny little business I work for? I think not!
Radio Signals go many miles. Some Dallas stations have signals going over 100 miles from their tower. So, a station with its tower in Plano....will cover Garland. Stations sell business firms within their coverage area. So, there would be no reason to just sell ads in Plano since the station is just as loud in Garland. Listen to your local stations and you will hear ads from all over Dallas and Fort Worth.
