Called from "Oldies Radio" wanting me to identify myself. I told him he had the wrong number. He tried again, this time telling me what my name was. I muted the call and he hung up.
Fast talking salesman who said he's calling on behalf of a local radio station and is trying to get local businesse to sponsor on-air public service spots to encourage listeners to not drink and drive during the holiday. Quoted me $275 for three 30 second spots, then dropped it to $200. I told him that I am actually in the business of working with radio stations and public service advertising, which I think made him a bit nervous. I started asking him questions - his name, name of company, where are they, what's their website, which led to a dead link when I went to it. All of a sudden he just said, "I will call you back on Monday to see what you decided." Thanks to the magic of caller ID, I will know not to answer.
person was talking to another person. I said hello. He asked to speak to my boss. I told him that he was not available. Then he asked in this company was still up and going. I hung up. Why call then ask that really stupid question?
Called saying local station selling advertising for support of our troops. I told him I have 2 sons currently serving in the military and we support our troops in other ways. Makes me angry scammers using this ploy.
