They are FSU students working for the FSU Foundation and it is that time of year to solicit donations. They just called me tonight. http://foundation.fsu.edu/about/phone-center. They call me because I'm a graduate and previous donor. They have never harassed me nor called at inappropriate times. The link I posted here shows the number and contacts. If you have a grievance or are just a plain a**hole, then call the manager or director and complain. But don't post false or dimwitted comments here to scare away those that may want to make a donation to the Foundation. Some of you individuals and your comments are pathetic and untrue. And yes I am biased because FSU is my alma mater. So rag on me and not these students working through college and promoting their school!
I believe they call me every year, but now I have caller ID so I don't answer. Although,,, it may be better just to answer b/c then you can tell them that you don't wish to donate and they will leave you alone for another year...
The FSU foundation has been calling Alumni since before all of you were even students, they have been able to fund scholarships, and any extra benefits that FSU has to offer. It is also employing students, while having flexible hours and provides a great environment for a full-time student. If we had to work while we were in school, I am sure you know how hard it was to work decent hours and still be able to make ends meet while you were in college. Take it easy on these kids, they are just trying to do their jobs, and not everything is covered by tuition, so all these extra funds need to come from somewhere. Our Alma Mater is struggling with the budget cuts the government is expecting them to work off of.
If you had a good time at FSU, then why find it so hard to give back??? All this non-profit organization is trying to do is make the experience of future students as fun as yours was...
Screw FSU... I never got any money from them and I struggled to have enough money to make it through school. If they want my money, they are going to have to earn it.
John - the university doesn't raise tuition, the state does.
Know It All - everyone is struggling in today's economy. It doesn't excuse poor telephone manners.
Bitter - get a grip, dude.
I got a call from this number the day after graduation. I used to work on campus and knew this was a campus number but I didn't answer because I knew I would not have graduated if there was any kind of outstanding debt or something. Also I figured they would leave a message if it was important.
