I don't think they sell the numbers... although with this government and their agencies I don't put anything past these corrupt crooks. The National Do Not Call Registry is just another incompetent government agency.
It's not the fault of the Do Not Call list. Its the fact that criminals, by definition, don't obey laws. It doesn't matter if the law is, "Don't swindle people" or "Don't call the people on this list." Most criminals willing to break the first law are also willing to break the second, especially since they can hide their identities by spoofing the Caller ID information using VOIP.
The people willing to honor the Do Not Call do so. I haven't gotten a single call from Macy's or the Pep Boys since I signed up. But there remain a lot of people who don't won't and never will.
Rococalled at 10:36am, asking to press 5 to make a claim about some filter, and 8 to not be called again. I pressed 5 and spoke to someone who sounded American who asked if I was interested in making a claim. I asked what the company name is, he said "Legal Assistance Hotline". I asked if he had a website, and he said they didn't and he thanked me and hung up.
I tried calling the number back and it only has a recorded message saying to press 1 to be placed on the DNC list.
By law, they can not robocall, and they must provide a real business name and address, but these scammers will lie. Instead, they dump your call when you ask any questions.
Another garbage call, Please someone or thing do something about these worms annoying us. Noticed these dirtbag calls come in clusters, 3 or 4 a day then none for a day or 2 then 4 within one hour. Get a F*****g life
