I got this call too. I didn't recognize the number or area code. I told my earpiece to ignore it. I always check calls I ignore on the internet and 99% of the time they are listed here, so another number blocked by my iPhone.
You're right --- they are scumbags. They are also NOT telemarketers & the Do Not Call list is for genuine telemarketers ONLY! Why would a criminal even care about a DNC list? They are already breaking all the laws by running these scams - they are not trying to sell you anything! They're trying to get money for nothing OR your information in order to sell it to an identity theft company --- the bulk of these are run from other countries as well so they are outside U.S. laws, even federal, & the numbers that come up have been faked so you never know where they're actually calling from. Do not answer & NEVER give them info!
