Honestly, help me out, I'd like to make sure people don't fall for this kind of stuff. I thought I (and the other posters in blue) were pretty clear, but maybe not.
Your 'free" cruise does not include:
Transportation between the boat and your home
Moving your luggage from the dock to your room
Meals on the boat
Any amenities on the boat
"Port fees" - those are any amount the tour company says, and they can be HUGE
And there's bound to be a "fuel fee" -
The boat is probably a rusting hulk, not the sleek passenger liner you are expecting.
So the cruise may be real but after all those fees you end up paying an awful lot of money for a disappointing boat ride.
I actually called the wrong number and won a free cruise from them. It's not necessarily a scam per say, just not representented correctly for a couple of reasons...... first, they tell you it's carribean cruise lines on the phone but the website says it's from a company called holiday cruises. Second, they make you pay the taxes on what would be considered a windfall which is normally not done until you pay your taxes which seems suspicious. Third, if you live in Pennsylvania like me you'll end up paying probably 500 bucks or so to get to Florida which wouldn't be the case if it was all inclusive as they claim. I doubt it's actually a scam as they seem to be a legitimate business, however it's not a "free" trip as they are saying.
