Yet another criminal 'Windows Repair' scam from India.
They are calling via the internet from India using a faked US phone number that is not in service.
This is pure foreign criminal scum - give them nothing and don't be nice to them.
For all of you complaining:
There is really nothing that the phone company can do - they are required to put through calls that appear legitimate.
There is little that the US authorities can do, unless the State Department wants to act, and they have more important issues.
It will require Congress to enable and encourage the phone companies to track and block these calls - so if you want something done about this criminal intrusion into our privacy - write to your Congressman & Senator.
Got a call that came up as Miller Kenneth on caller ID. Answered as I do have friends with the last name of Miller (I try to never answer calls from numbers I do not recognize). Male with very thick Indian accent said something about a computer and I just said, "Not interested" and hung up. Great tactic on their part, using a pretty common American name. Geez, so tired of these stupid games.
I did not answer since I do not know a Kenneth Miller, and "Kenneth" left no message. After reading here, I'm glad I didn't. I'm so sick of these scammers and yes, they are often people with heavy Indian accents. I don't understand how desperate these people must be to have jobs like this and why there have been no documentaries on these scams.
hindu tech support scammers. They call themselves "ewizard". The entire deal is a scam, they are after credit card numbers and personal data to sell. Whatever you do, do not let these scummy little scammers into your computer.
If you hit * 60 on your phone when the dial tone is there, you should be able to add the calling number to your block list. This depends on your service provider.
