FTP - No idea who they are or what they do....but they are not calling for any legit reason, its a cold call.
An EXTREMELY rude and whiny (it was almost comical) lady called today and asked for John. We have (withing the C-Level alone) 6 Johns. I asked which John she needed.
"Well, the owner of the company."
Red Flag #1 - She doesn't know who she is calling. I answer the phone for a holding company, so there are at least 8 different "owners".
I told her I answer the phone for several companies, and asked her which one was she referring to?
Red Flag #2 - She SLAUGHTERED the name of the company (it's phonetic, and not hard at all), which usually means she has no legit business.
If the caller ID indicates a nonlocal or out-of-state call, I don't answer it. If they don't leave a message I check the number on this website to see if there are complaints. If so, I saved the number and label it "scam". I have been doing this for a couple of weeks now and I'm up to "Scam 10". When I get a call listed in my phone as "scam" I simply terminate the call and go on with my day.
Got the call - immediately pressed "BLOCK" on my Digitone call blocker and POOF - they are gone forever.
2nd call today and it's not even 10am.
While writing this - I just got a call from "NATIVE AMERICAN" 516 340-9867.
MY 3RD TELEMARKETER CALL OF THE DAY AND IT'S NOT EVE 10 AM!
BLOCKED THEM ALSO.
Buy a call blocking phone or device - PUT THESE CRIMINALS OUT OF BUSINESS
