FTP - No idea who they are or what they do....but they are not calling for any legit reason, its a cold call.
An EXTREMELY rude and whiny (it was almost comical) lady called today and asked for John. We have (withing the C-Level alone) 6 Johns. I asked which John she needed.
"Well, the owner of the company."
Red Flag #1 - She doesn't know who she is calling. I answer the phone for a holding company, so there are at least 8 different "owners".
I told her I answer the phone for several companies, and asked her which one was she referring to?
Red Flag #2 - She SLAUGHTERED the name of the company (it's phonetic, and not hard at all), which usually means she has no legit business.
I have found that DoNotCall does not stop the aggressive scammers/marketers from calling. My android cell phone is my biz phone and I used to get a lot of scam calls. I still do but they never ring through anymore. I have added "Telemarketer" to my contact list and when I get a scam call I add the number into the contacts under "telemarketer" which I have set to go straight to voice mail. No one ever leaves a message. After all the number options (fax, home, work, Callback, pager, etc) got used up I created "telemaketer2" and so on. I have 8 - 10 numbers in each contact list. I am up to "Telemarketer7" now but my phone is blissfully quiet. I can see when they have called and I just smile.
If you are receiving calls on your cell, check and see if you can enter their number into your phone and turn the "block caller" on...Thats what I do and it seems to work...so far
got a call from these guys, told them we don't accept credit cards. Oddly enough, got two identical calls from 713-714-5829 and from 408-429-2310 not more than 10 minutes later. God, I hate these people.
