Scam artists. I'd been getting daily, almost hourly calls from these people - same recorded message, but different phone numbers.
What I figured out:
#1 If you don't recognize the number on your phone, DO NOT ANSWER. Answering lets them know it's an open line.
#2 Ignore the call as fast as you can. If it's a real person who actually knows you, they'll leave a message. If their calls are always ignored quickly, they'll slowly stop calling.
#3 Report each and every number that calls at DoNotCall.gov so that the FTC can build up a case to shut these people down.
#4 Your service provider will probably block a certain number of phone numbers for free. Sprint has 50.
BS recorded message from "Heather" in "card services department" about my credit card account. Note that this number does not appear to return to this party, it appears to be a private line in NJ. I believe the calling party changed their caller ID number so people would not call them back.
The callers are the drug-addicted "card services" scammers, who call us, pretending to be associated with our credit card companies, in an attempt to fool us into giving them our credit card numbers, so they can rip us off. People that have given their card numbers to these junkies have suffered severe financial losses. Beware of these lowlifes, and warn others, before they are cheated!
they call 3-4 times within a few seconds. like the "one ring" cramming, but not from a toll number. my landline is forwarded. there is just enough connect time on the forwarded end to get 3-4 missed calls with this caller id. i'm getting from other CIDs, too. a lot less annoying than other scams or ads, but another sign of our broken infrastructure and the pain of a deregulated and defunded government. stop jailing kids (PA's kids for cash scandal) and put these guys away instead.
