They called , but its seems as if they are a legit company doing a Home Security systems . I got my system installed for around 34$/month , very nice system and good price.
Just got this call. As above, "Home Security System". This time, the number is calling from Somerville, MA..
I received a lot of similar calls from 302-257-5917 (Dover, DE), and I discovered, through another 800Notes thread that it was really based from the Peerless Company in Chicago. I called their number and was able to get the calls from Delaware to stop.
I wonder if this number is connected in the same way, as the recording and "service for sale" is identical!
Same thing as everyone above. I have recently been getting calls for home security systems. They will state it is completely free IF you let them come out and put signs in your yard. Hmm.... My guess is that the number calling is actually a "bot" calling to see when a person picks up, so they then know when to call. I just ignore it when they call. At some point, they will stop calling when they know you won't answer OR if you find the owner, get your name off the list. By the way, all that comes up on the caller id is, "Somersville, MA" and the phone number when this number calls.

Got the call , spoke with the a guy offering a Home Security system , looked legit , told them was not interested , they havent called back since. I stayed on the phone for about a few seconds before some one came on.
To date, 2 calls recv'd from this number: 1st call on 8/26/13 @4:02pm; 2nd on 8/27/13 @9:15am; both times called ID displayed "Special Promo" as the caller.
Voice on phone is a recording, not live, but with 'built-in' pauses, waiting for response before continuing. Offering free - equipment & installation - of security system. No option to stop receiving calls; no company mentioned; no security brand names mentioned; in other words, no traceable or verifiable details given ...
Suspiciously like the 'let us put a sign in your yard' scams - especially viewing variety of caller ID's listed here - except they didn't offer a sign!
