I received a call while driving. I told them I was not available to my computer and asked for a call back number. Was given 855-481-5399 which is a scammer telemarketer. The caller ID'ed himself as Jack from Geek Support Live. I never called back.
Getting calls from Name Unavailable, 860-111-1666 all hours of the day, any day of the week.
Called Comcast and they cannot do a damn thing. Cannot block by *60 or on Comcast website or even speaking to someone at Comcast. Comcast basically said that we have to live with it.
Greatest technology in the world but can't block these calls.
Got a call from this "spoofed" number & I put on my "Sweet Southern Baptist Church Lady Charm" until he became adamant. I then asked, "Had my secretary called you?" He then lied (I have no secretary) & said he was the repair company. I taped the entire 45 minute conversation. At least, he wasn't able to both anyone else. I'm 110% certain this is the same scumbag that called me yesterday using my own telephone number to spoof the call! What morons...at one point he told me I reminded him of his mother, & I couldnt resist, "Well, she must be a smart lady so I'm gonna give you the same advice she's probably already given to you, get a real job! Stop being a leech!"
Just got call from the same number according to caller ID. Am also on FTC "do not call" list but the scammers that call this way disregard the list. After all, they ARE low-life crooks, so what do they care about 'do not call' requests? It seems that such harrassing callers should be traced through their phone OR internet service providers and prosecuted.
Consumer Reports magazine, Nov. issue (latest) says that they are requesting Federal action be taken against violators of 'do not call' and "robo" callers and "spoof" calls (displaying fake IDs). Contact your legislators in Washington and ask them to SUPPORT such action! Speak up to get this annoying and disruptive nonsense stopped!
