Caller identified his organization as Zentec (spelling?), and was soliciting funds for the Police Athletic League. I said I didn't pledge funds by phone and said they could mail me their material, and I hung up. (If they know who I am, then they have my address. -- The caller did know my first name.)
I looked up both Zentec and Xentec on google.com and found nothing related to the P.A.L.
I called back to 860-269-8751 and got a recorded announcement from the P.A.L. and a reference to their main number at 800-396-1757.
i receive this call almost daily. whether i pick up the phone or let it go to voicemail, this is the recording that is played: "the following is not a sales call. this call concerns a personal business matter. please call us at 1-888-660-4834 between the hours of 8am to 9pm est, mon to thurs... and 8am to 6pm friday and saturday. again, please call us at 1-888-660-4834."
I also receive the very same message that you have. They called again tonight an ask to speak to my wife (called her name). I told the person with an accent that I was going to file a complaint against him to the No Call Registry. The SOB then told me that my wife owed Friedman's Jewelry $301.00 for a jewelry purchase made in 2001. I told him that she has never purchased jewelry from a Friedman's Jewelry and hung up on him.
No message left Phone number on ID 408-907-9109 CaLLED IT BACK AND IT SAID THANK YOU CALLING 1-888-660-4834 PLEASE WAIT FOR THE FIRST AVAILABLE AGENT SO i HUNG UP
Had received calls from this number about once a week for the past two months finally answered at once and wanted to raise money for local police organizations in the area would not take no for an answer and still calls at least once a week and harassers plus less than 10% actually goes eo what they claim it goes to
IF you actually talk with them they are RELENTLESS trying to get you to donate. I have actually spoke to quite a few representatives becuase I was picking up the phone then. I would tell them that we already have our companies that we donate to and that I could not afford to dontate to anyones. He then spent the next five minutes of the call trying to convince me that any amount is just fine, what wonderful things the money goes to, blah, blah, blah. They are just too pushy for me.
