Caller identified his organization as Zentec (spelling?), and was soliciting funds for the Police Athletic League. I said I didn't pledge funds by phone and said they could mail me their material, and I hung up. (If they know who I am, then they have my address. -- The caller did know my first name.)
I looked up both Zentec and Xentec on google.com and found nothing related to the P.A.L.
I called back to 860-269-8751 and got a recorded announcement from the P.A.L. and a reference to their main number at 800-396-1757.
got another call from briva.hav called many times before but we do not answer. My wife and I do not answer 'TOLL FREE" or "UNKNOWN" numbers even though some "UNKNOWN" phone numbers might be doctors or legitimate businesses. Any legitimate business should be proud to state their names
The company been calling me since yesterday. I never answer the phone, but i called after and the phone didnt even ring. Their new number is 240-787-1342
They have been calling me too. Putting me on hold for 6 min and not answering. I only stayed on to tell whoever it is to stop calling me then I hung up and tried calling them back with no answer. It is crazy how these people can get away with this. The number they called me from is 415-462-2853. I think it might be a prison scam because the number is in San Rafael and that is where San Quinton Prison is located. I want to know what I can do to get them to stop calling. Everyone out there beware!
I called 1-800-396-1757, this a a number for the National Assoc of Police Athletic League. They are calling for money. If you keep listening they tell you that you can be removed from their list. I did this I own a business and they are called me 5 time in the last two days and when I answer they hang up. It is on caller ID as Brivia Com LLC.. Hope this stops them. Good Luck
The best way to help put them out of Buisness, is to keep them on the line talking. This way they will be wasting thier time and money. If we all do this, maybe they will go away. I doubt it but it could be fun??!!?? And never commit or give personal info.
