Since this automated caller claims to be the CT Alert Notification System, it's the Hamden Police in the New Haven County area of Connecticut who's been requesting this 24/7 calling center to do this. If anyone has concerns over this kind of automated computer do contact the Hamden Police. Their nonemergency number is 1-203-230-4000 and they'll explain that they requested this company to contact a multiple number of Connecticut residents!
If you live in CT and have registered your number, then this is a legit #. It is part of the State of CT Emergency Alert System. The website is below. You have to sign up for this number and you will receive alerts from the state or even your community.
these [removed:lang] actually called late at night on christmas eve--not once, but three times in succession, hanging up and leaving no message each time. i was shocked to learn that this was an emergency communication number when i looked up the log to see who had bothered me, and i intend to report a complaint.
pure speculation. we don't know that. why call three times within three minutes that late in the evening and then not leave a message? especially assuming it's a serious enough matter to warrant invoking the use of this system?
we already know from past experience these systems are being abused. i plan to investigate further.
The legit official sign up webpage is here http://www.ct.gov/ctalert/site/default.asp
You should ONLY sign up on the OFFICIAL ct.gov website and nowhere else.
