Been getting these calls for a couple of weeks. Have never answered one until today. Said they are looking for (gave me two names, first names were the same, last names were different). Asked them who they were. They would not answer - said they needed to know I was the person they were looking for because of privacy act they couldn't reveal who they were or what they wanted. I told them they had the wrong person and told them not to call again. Evidently they have something to do with credit cards.
They called looking for a relative we don't even know. I told him we don't know who the person is and he apologized and wished me a good day. That's all.
This is a school loan collection company. Got a call from 800-432-6202 with a voice message to call back. It was reference a person I knew but haven't been in contact with in six years who is being hunted down for school loan payment. I called back a couple days later, very unprofessional person answered without a company name. Wanted to know if someone had called me. I told him who left the message and he asked my name. Told me I would be put on a silent hold. I waited long enough and hung up. Shortly thereafter, I got a call from 862-902-5403. I didn't answer it. This is the third group of collection people to call me concerning this person who had used me as a reference years ago. I keep telling them all the same information --- haven't been in contact with her for six years.
