Just a few minutes ago I received the 2nd call in 24 hours from this number. I kept the recordings to report if need be. I did not answer the phone yesterday, but listened in as the caller (Tim Basal sp?) from The Law Office of Ed Overcash LLC left his message for a Louis Rios. He informed us if this is not Louis Rios to hang up. Right. This number 888-401-2711 was left for 'Louis' to call back in regard to the debt collection. I've had my phone number for over 23 years & have no idea who this Louis person is. Today, when the same man called to leave the identical message for 'Louis' again, I picked up. The solicitor, 'Tim' actually seemed reasonable & informed me that he would remove my number from their call back list & apologized for bothering me. He repeated my number to me, at which I informed him of the years I've owned the number & that I've never heard of this person 'Louis' that he is calling for. He told me that they call numbers that are possible contact numbers for the person. I don't know where they are getting their information from but it's screwed up.
Oh & the referenced phone number to call back 888-401-2711 does belong to The Law Office of Ed Overcash LLC.... Search of that number shows that they have a website.
The Law Offices of Ed Overcash LLC have now contacted my 16 year old daughter twice, harassing her for a debt that does not even belong to her. When she tried to tell them they have the wrong person, they accused her of lying, asking why she responded to the name they used. My daughter told them they have the first name correct but not the last name. My daughter proceeded to tell them to look up the phone number so they can see they have the wrong person. These debt collectors need to be fined. Innocent people should not be harassed because collectors can't track down the original offenders.
I am constantly getting these idiotic debt collectors calling for someone else. They have to be calling anyone with live telephone service. I got seven of these calls before eleven a.m.. I have reported this number to the FTC along with fifteen other collectors using hundreds of different spoofed numbers on the Caller ID. It is past time a law with teeth was implemented that stopped these harassing calls. It is beyond the point of ridiculous. Ever wonder if Congressmen get these calls? No way, guaranteed "no call" numbers. When the next Congressional election comes along, write in Debt Collectors as your vote.
