I'm a police officer in the State of Maryland (specifically the Annapolis, MD area). Today I took a report from a person (I'll call him Mr. Doe) who received a phone call from 864-252-8542. Two different men, who identified themselves as agents with the IRS, told Mr. Doe that he owed almost $3000.00 in taxes to the IRS and if he did not pay it he would go to jail.
Fortunately Mr. Doe knew this phone call was a scam. The callers had Mr. Doe's name, address, and obviously his home phone number (this is information easily obtained from the Internet and White Pages).
IT IS A SCAM. DO NOT GIVE THESE THIEVES ANY MONEY OR YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION!!!!!
Been getting calls from some people that keep telling me that my loan application has been approved and I need to call them back and they will wire the money to my account. Calls had been coming from Florida, but now they are calling using this South Carolina account. Wonder what kind of scam they are running. I never applied for any unsecured loans. the other number is 754-551-9419.
steadily receiving calls from these people telling me i owe them back money when i dont even have a loan anywhwere, said it's time sensative that I contact immediately, when i do call them back a foregin man gets on phone that i cant even understand his language and starts raising cain over phone that he will get his money some where some how doesnt matter if he has to get the Marshall to find me and bring me back to his state and serve time for what i've done...first of all what have i done? John smith which is his name tells me that I borrowed money from Advance america and they depostited money into my account back in 2001 at Hunington Bank in Pennsylvania, I dont even live in Pennsylvania, never had couldn't tell you where it's located, told Mr Smith today and everyday that I speak to him just come on and get me, so far no Marshall yet, I'll have his coffee waiting when he gets here. I've blocked all other numbers when he calls and he finds another number to contact me by. Lord get a life!
hi i hv got the same call from this number and 9174604116.it was complete mental torture..they i hv told me either i have to pay 400$ or i hv to go to the prision for 5 yr..bcz i hv taken some loan form some so nd so compney nd i hvnt paid it...i will say plz god help police to find those guys...
This number is from a guy who claims he is a Attorney that is suing me for a unpaid payday loan search. which I never did. Its obviously a scam as he said he will get the Marshall to arrest me at work and threatened me with the US Government etc... Now he's calling my work!!! When I asked for his license number he said uh.. I don't have that and gave me some bogus Paralegal number D5839 which doesn't exist.
