I got a call and then called back via internet so they would not see my number. I looked up the number on this website before calling.) After pressing, a girl named Rhonda identified her company as Clear Check. I terminated the call without giving any information about who I was.
Your experience is interesting. I looked up Clear Check's phone number and their listed number is different from the number that appeared on my handy but still from Greenville NC.
For now will assume fraud but will watch the mail.
Recording of a man (said his name was bob or something, saying I needed to call 877-389-1132 immediately that its very important. Sounds like a SCAM/SPAM calling. Did not call either number back.
I didn't bother to answer the phone on this one because the name itself was suggestive of a scam. I just came here to post this number on the ever-growing Wall of Shame. I sure as heck do not expect Homeland Security to deter terrorism in this country if they cannot do anything about such a simple matter as stemming this sort of nuisance. Your tax dollars at work, folks. Other nuisances previously reported here include FEMTANDPA and SOFAPAL. Please watch out for these as well.
I had same experience as the above. in fact, they left messages twice a day for last 8 days. when i called to find out who they were, what company they were from, they refused to give me that info unless i gave them personal information about myself. i refused, and they hung up on me. if they were a legitimate business, they would not conduct business in such a way. Feels like an identity scam of some kind to me.
THESE PEOPLE ARE INCREDIBLEY RUDE! THEY HAVE NO INTENTION OF EXPLAINING WHO THEY ARE JUST THAT YOU OWE THEM MONEY. IF YOU DON'T PAY THEM WITH IN THE HOUR THEN YOU HAD BETTER CHECK WITH YOUR LOCAL AUTHORITIES BECAUSE THEY WILL BE FILING CHARGES AGAINST YOU. . . FOR WHAT?!!! I GET THESE CALLS AT LEAST 2-3 TIMES A DAY.
