New one. Didn't recognize name or number. They didn't leave a message and I didn't pick up. I asked for tougher penalties on phone fraud for Christmas, in the meantime a new call blocker. I have 312 numbers blocked and this is pure harassment.
This number 864-868-2150 in Six Mile, NC has called my cell phone numerous times before and I never answered, but today at 10:15 AM Central Time, I answered and wanted to find out who the hell it was. Same story as others above: Strong India accent. He's with Windows Technical Support and calling to tell me I have computer errors being reported to Microsoft. I said to myself, since when in the hell has Microsoft started making phone calls offering computer support.
This is a group of Scammers and I could hear other scam-mates in the background telling people they were with Windows Technical Support. I played with him awhile to the point where he wanted me to go to a website so they could connect to my computer to correct my computer errors in Windows. To do this he told me to hold down the Microsoft flag button on my keyboard and the R key; then type in www.support231.weebly.com and click "Okay". At this point I hung up on him. Then I immediately started getting calls from 215-739-6701 in Philadelphia, PA (5 within 15 minutes and another 5 hours later). These two phone numbers are part of this scam operation, so beware. I didn't check out the website listed and don't intend to. Hope this helps to shut them down.
i just received a call from this number, it was a male with a strong accent saying he was a windows rep. i asked him to stop calling, to which he replied, "i will call every day" , and then threaten to kill me if i were to trace his call.\
Man with Indian accent tells me he's calling from Windows tech support. I told him we bought new windows a couple of years ago, said thank you and he mumbled something just before I hung up! I'm old - NOT STUPID!!!
Why isn't "SCAMMER" listed as one of the options for "Call Type"????
