They said they were from Windows. Got me to type in some info on my keyboard to find out if my PC was being hacked. Very critical, they said. I said I need to authorize who they were. He got his supervisor. At that point I said I did not want to continue with them, but "good luck".
I just received a call from this number saying they were from Microsoft technical support with a critical call about my computer. Avast had JUST finished cleaning up issues on my computer so I was highly suspicious and asked questions until the person hung up. The woman had a strong African accent.
Most of these calls are coming from India and Pakistan. Not much you can do to stop them short of looking into a call blocking device or phone. Consider getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $40.00 or so. If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.
