This Chicago IL number kept calling several times today until I finally answered it. A man with a thick Indian accent told me he was from Windows tech support and that he wanted to speak with me about the recent hacking attempt on my computer. He then said "You know about that, right?" I responded that I had just recently moved and wasn't even hooked up to the internet yet so I didn't see how anyone could hack my computer. He hung up.
I wanted to see how long he could keep me on...good thing I googled the number so I continied talking to him...after awhile I was like thank you and hung up...crazy how they have our name though!
So this number did call and my dad answers it...he wants to give it to me but I say no...then decide to talk to them. As I am talking to them I am researching that number.. I ended up speaking to the man for awhile just for fun and ended up saying good bye...prior to that though I asked who the Microsoft windows name was under and sure enough they knew my dads name. They ask for me to turn on the computer and check for details of something cause they knew there were hackers ...
Anyways I was over his sales pitch and hung up.
Guess what...my dad turns on his computer and it doesn't work...I know that after that phone call was received they did something to it..coincidence??? I think not.
The first call I received was from "name unavailable - 872-345-6789." A man with a thick Indian accent said he was from tech support. I hung up. Immediately the phone rang again, this time it said "name unavailable - 000-000-0000", I did no pick up & no message was left. Immediately after that call the phone rang again. This time it said "unavailable -out of area." The Indian man did leave a message that was only curse words.
