I received the same call from Rocky Williams in Pennsylvania called me today. I kept questioning how they knew someone was hacking into my computer network and the only response he would give me was that my computer sent them a message stating that there was unusual activity and an error message that was sent to them. "My computer has been turned off for the last few days, so how did it send you a message?" He requested that I turn my computer on and he would be able to show me. Had SCAM written all over it. My question is how did he get my number and know that I just purchased a new laptop with Windows 8.1 loaded on it?
A person called stated, they work for Microsoft and someone tried to hack my computer. I asked who were they and he could not tell me who they were. Straight away, I hung up the phone. I tried to call this number (+878-286-0398) back no such number. THIS IS A SCAM! Do not give these people any of your information what so ever.
I got a call from them saying I was hacked and I told them I don't believe them. They said I must believe him because this is his job. He said my computer was being used for illegal purposes and I needed to fix the problem with him.
Called from this number and said they were from Microsoft -- Indian accent -- said my email was hacked and confirmed the email address I use for Facebook -- was beligerant when I told them I would have my IT dept handle the issue -- said they were warning me that there were specific codes that only they had access to and that if I didn't allow them access to my computer right now, then I was endangering my machine and could possible loose my entire computer. Tried to bully me over the phone and became more irritated when I insisted that I had an entire IT department at my disposal to deal with my computer issues -- insisted that my computer had sent them (Microsoft) an alert that my computer was being hacked even as we spoke.
