They called me too and I work for the courthouse, it's a total scam, I have been getting calls like this since 2008. This year my identity was even stolen, do not give these scammed any personal information and do not verify anything. I used to report them but they are very hard to catch with all the spoofed numbers they use. Best just to block them and ignore the calls. If you call them back, your number will most likely be passed on to other scammed and the calls will continue.
some lady named Liz says i have an outstanding $1,500.00 that I owe cashmart in tacoma in 2011. She didnt have a case number for me. I never took out a loan at a cashmart in tacoma in 2011. Then I get an email confirming out conversation but its from a different name.
They called my husband's cell phone, my cell phone & my parent's home phone telling me I had a quick cash loan I hadn't paid back. I told them that when they "served" me papers in the case that I would serve them with a countersuit for fraud and they hung up on me. I figure let them try to serve me anything at my place of business or my home since all they had was a cell phone number not tied to either address. Always ask for a debt validation letter and demand that they tell you who they are representing and why. I thought it was quite strange that when they called the second time on my phone it gave me the option to say that it wasn't my debt and that they would have my number removed from their database.
I just tried contacting Checksmart directly. I called 216-662-3434 in Ohio to request a # for their billing dept. I told her the call I had received saying I had defaulted on a payday loan and that I was calling to clear it up. When I refused to give her my SS# she became hostile and hung up. I also tried to look up Seinburg & Asso. that "Liz" said she represented. Surprise!! No info can be found. By the way, the first time I asked who she was with she spelled it "Seinberg". I also contacted the 3 main credit bureaus to place alerts on my accounts since these people seem to have a lot of personal info. In addition I contacted my bank and added safety features as well. I too will counter sue if they pursue this scam.
Called this number after my MOM had gotten a call saying that I had a civil complaint filed against me. The first time I called the gentleman never gave his name and what agency or firm he represented, but answered with a simple "hello". I explained why I was calling, he asked for my DOB to pull up my "case". I gave him my DOB as its no secret when I was born and he said I had a "breach of contract" and "fraud of financial institution" for failing to repay a loan from Cash Smart Advance. I've never even heard of this company so I imidiately claimed fraud. I called him out on this information and he said he would remove my mom's number from their call list.
I called again and started to question a woman this time as to what agency she represented and she said "Seinberg & Associates". I asked what they do there and she told me she couldn't give out any information unless she could verify who she was talking too and asked for my personal information like the last four of my SSN. I told her I did not want to give put this infor unless she told me what her agency did and she became hostile with me and hung up. This number is fraud. If there was a "civil complaint" against you, your local court house would be in contact with you, not this number. Also, Seinberg and Associates doesn't exist.
They called me about a loan in 2008 from cash mart never hhard of this place. About 6 month's ago I got a phone call like this but I really thought it was true because I had took out a loan in my younger days and never paid back I I paid it. Ya like a dummy I feel for it. Bit not this,time in 2008 I was in a good place and still am. I'm a single mom of two and work hard I know for a fact I never took out a loan. So I went off on them. A few minutes later a coworkers text me telling me these people was asking about me. I got pissed I Google the number and found this web site. I called these low life people back a told the what I Did and I know they are a scam. They hung up on me Lol
