They called me too and I work for the courthouse, it's a total scam, I have been getting calls like this since 2008. This year my identity was even stolen, do not give these scammed any personal information and do not verify anything. I used to report them but they are very hard to catch with all the spoofed numbers they use. Best just to block them and ignore the calls. If you call them back, your number will most likely be passed on to other scammed and the calls will continue.
Same here. For my daughter - I called and told them to stop calling my house as there is no way any legit business would call FIRST to say they were serving papers to you but if they wanted to come over fine. I'd have them meet my B-I-L who just so happens to work for the FBI. Idiots.
An individual called my job by the name of Lea Hunter from this number. Left a voice mail with a case # saying I could settle out of court, etc. Funny thing is, they left all of this info on the WRONG MAILBOX!!! How embarrassing!!
Yeah, so these ppl used to be less sophisticated and have a random recording call, now they are making so much money as scam artists they actually hired live people! So, I got this call (second day in a row) from a 574 area code (Indiana) from a Melinda Thompson stating that there are 2 check fraud charges and that I was going to be served, yada yada yada. Then she gave an address I haven't lived at since 2006....okay, 2006...that's 9 years ago. If this was real, I would have had something on my credit report and it ain't there. the weird thing is, I keep changing my cell phone number and about 6 months after I do, they find out my new number. Probably shouldn't put any number on any applications for credit. Glad I don't put it on my work numbers. If they show up here, that would be crazy. They tell me to call back 901-866-5974. Yeah, right [***]...come and get me!!!!
Same messages and they have a rep by the name of Melinda Thompson calling my son's place of work. I told my son not to
return call as I already spoken with FDCPA. The message is very serious and that is why my son is worried. They gave case# which I don't know what I am owing. They kept leaving messages at my home too-will serve document at place of residence or work of employment. It is very threatening messages.
