I have received several calls from this scammer. I press them to provide me with the IP address of the offending computer, as I claim to have several remote stations. This throws them into a complete tizzy. They have no idea what I'm talking about. I'm retired so I can keep them on the line as long as possible trying to force them to identify which computer is supposedly throwing these error messages.
I just got the same call...some guy with like an Indian accent. When he said he's calling from Windows, I said, no you're not, Windows don't call you at home...he got all upset and said Microsoft calls you...and I cut him off and said, okay, if you're Windows, Microsoft, what computer are you calling about??? I don't have a computer at home...only a work computer...(I was only testing him at that point).. He says, you lie like a bandit..and I said so do you, that's why you have that job! Click..he hung up..lol I called the number back, and it just rings and rings...SCAM!!
Louis, w/an Indian accent, who couldn't hear me, gave me the same sh-peel. I tried to tell him I'm running Linux, but he couldn't hear me, so I hung up.
