They just called me at work. Couldn't catch his name. Told him I knew nothing about charges so he transfered me to the office handling the case. (funny think it sounded like it was him trying to change his voice). The guy read the charges about some type of loan and when I asked who the company was, he read, real fast, a list of companies. Then when I asked for the date, he kept avoiding the question. Kept just repeating "give me a date" and he finally answered it was a long time ago. I hung on him. Told my boss about it and he called his friend at police station. I have to call the attorney general's office tomorrow and file a comlaint with them. Then going to call the local TV stationg and see if I can get something on the TV about this. Totally a scam!!!
I got a call from 903-965-6203 said his name was Robert Smith with Vincent, Wilson And Bennett Law Firm. That I had a court hearing scheduled for Friday morning and I needed to take care of this matter. I asked them who it was with that I had no papers. He said Oh my you haven't received any paperwork? I said he said let me transfer you. I said send me copies of the contract showing I owed anything. He said the last four of your ss is #### I said no. he said you work at this company I said no. I said send me the copies proving that I owe any money. I asked him where he was he said TEXAS. The 903 is a Texas area code. But when I asked him to send me copies of the original contract again he hung up on me.
I received several phone calls to my work & cell phone from a Justin Walles saying he was a hired by American Cash to collect on a payday loan. I never received an online loan from any company. When I denied having any knowledge of this company he yelled at me & called me a dumba**... I asked to speak to his supervisor & the person he transferred me to sounded like the same guy. He threatened me with criminal charges, said a warrant will be issued for my arrest & for me to be prepared to go to jail by the end of this week. Said I should obtain a lawyer very soon & wished me luck. When I asked for the date I took out this loan he said he didn't know. He said I've been ignoring emails & letters the company has been sending me so I asked him to verify my email & physical address he said he couldn't tell me that info, I told this person that someone must of commited fraud or identity theft, he said "yeah right". So I actually called an attorney who informed me this indeed is a scam! Friday is just 4 days away, lets see what happens!
Same thing happened to me. They guy said they were coming to my job to arrest me. I was so confused. I called the sheriffs department and he said it was a scam.
