I received a few calls from this number as well. The voice sounds robotic. While this is definitely a scam, I also found this phone number attached to my Social Security information. I suggest everyone who receives this call to do more than shrug it off. I'll be reporting it to Social Security.
Be a nice idea if you were dealing with individuals or legal entities located in the US.
Unfortunately there is no legal action that can be taken against them. No one knows where they are located and there are litterlly thousands of call centers throughout India and Pakistan who make it their business to try to scam citizens of the US, Canada and the UK.
The hard core Indian and Pakistani scammer/extortionists are beyond the reach of US law.The US can't do anything and the local governments do little.
The scammers often make use of US based money mules. They are occasionally arrested by US Marshals.
Also you don't have to keep re-posting the same message.
Unfortunately they are located in India and Pakistan and are beyond the reach of US law. Invest in a call blocker and DO NOT pick kup on numbers you do not recognize.
