This number keeps calling saying I committed fraud and that there's a warrent for my arrest if I don't pay a legal fee. It for a payday loan that I payed off then he changed his story saying I closed my account which I didn't then he changed his story again saying the payment was NSF which it wasn't. Has to be a scam

"This is Mr Johnson I am with the fraud and worthless check division the state of Pennsylvania is about to issue a warrant out for your arrest today you need to call me ASAP"
this is what I received today. this has to be a scam. I didn't commit any fraud or "worthless checks" that I know of. So annoying.

If you had issued a bad check, you would have been notified by the bank to make good on it and charged a hefty fee. If you failed to make good on it, the person you wrote it to would have taken it to receive authorization from a local District Attorney to proceed with private prosecution at which time you would have received notification from a district court about the hearing. From that point on, everything then becomes a criminal matter and no debt collector is allowed to handle it. You also would not receive prior notification from government employees about the matter.
This is a common scam being used by criminals in an attempt to scare people and extort money from them.
Total scam. Only judges issue warrants and they are only issued to duly constituted officers of the law and are only served in hand by duly constituted officers of the law. Debt collectors have no influence on the criminal justice system at all. Debt is a civil matter and you cannot be arrested for being in debt. If there was a bad check written it would be up to the bank to contact you, not some scummy debt collector. The bank would usually settle with you. You'd be aware of it. Prosecutions for bad checks are handled by the local public prosecutor. The bank would press charges. No debt collectors would be involved.
This is a total scam. Block the calls and do not talk to these people.
I received the same call and when I told him that he was a fraud and should google himself, he told me that all the other reports were a lie. I asked for his address and he gave me 303 Perimeter Center Ste 400 in Atlanta GA 30345 which is Amerigroup address. What really distrubs me is this Mr. Johnson has my social security number.
