This company called to tell me I have an outstanding issue. That's funny, because I don't. They kept wanting me to verify my information and I kept repeating that I refuse to do that over the phone & especially with a company I have never heard of. I asked her what the outstanding issue was and was told I couldn't have that information until I verified my name & address. Nope, not a hope in hell; wasn't born yesterday.
On Monday, 10/12/09, at 6:34 p.m. we received a message on our answering machine from 905-413-8660. ONTARIO appeared on our Caller ID with the number referenced. A man's voice told us that we needed to call him back immediately. The man did not reference the name of the person he was calling or any further details. I then called the number appearing on Caller ID, but their message did not give their business name. Therefore, I checked the number out on Google. How can we prevent this company and other companies from constantly harrassing innocent people?
There are many company's with the name "Global Credit".
But I think this one is Markham ON CANADA

i called back and as soon as a mean sounding woman answered, I simply said "oh! I'm glad i reached you, what is your website again?"
I caught her off guard and she gave me this "http://www.globalcollection.net"
She quickly realized what she had done and start feeding me other words to add to it to screw me up, like "and collections", "and incorporated"
When I asked if it was ".com" she said "nope. that's it" as if to tell me that she wasn't going to provide a web address now.
Good thing I record my calls for quality assurance, so I could go back and get the real address.
Called today. Didn't recognize number on ID so I didn't pick up. Did not leave a message. I know I have no outstanding debts anywhere so I've added this number to my blocked number service.
Additional info. Thought Ontario and this number looked familiar. I had previously received a call from "Ontario" with the number of 905-413-8799. This was also identified as Global Financial. I'd previously blocked the number. Appears they have multiple lines & numbers. If your phone company offers it (mine does) you can block all calls from specific area codes & prefixes. I've now changed mine to block all calls from the prefix 905-413 since I have no friends or family in that area.
