Somewhat funny here... I say this because last week I recv'd 3 notices from 2 different agencies (MJR & CRM) over 3 different outstanding 7+yr old debts with TD (Overdraft, LOC and C.C.). Their phone calls have just recently started, and today when I went to chat with the fellow over a "Very Urgent MSG", I told him to hang on a second as I take my jacket off (I had just come in the door) and he immediately hung up on me. Humm...!?! LOL!! (Had he not, I would have treated him like a 976 call girl - that's always fun and freaks them out)
So, in my case it doesn't matter. These debts are stats barred and no longer on my credit reports. I'm guessing that this is TD's last attempt at collecting the debt before they sell it off to a 3rd party (Acktiv Capital, etc..).
My advice to others: Know when your debts are stats barred by provincial legislation at time of default. Verify your credit reports and determine if debts have been sold to a 3rd party. Refrain from overreacting - i/e: Don't let them make you scared. Have your facts in check then play your cards.
Called and look for Michael Robarb or something. I don't even know this guy, and they just keep on calling eventhough they know this is my phone, and i've told them 100+ times that i don't know who the [***] that guy is. I'm gonna file a criminal harrassment report if they dare call again.
Okay, I'm a MJR Victim too. I've been reading all these comments and i'm suprised that there's alot of people who are attack by these MJR Collection agency callers. I know it's hard to pay off your debt. Because i'm going through it right now also. I'm a student. it's hard to work and go to school at the same time. For myself, paying off my debt is almost there. it's just these MJR callers. They sure do know how to threaten and scare people off with their violence voices trying to convience to pay off your debt!
The First time i recieved the phone from them. I got so nervous by the phone call. When i heard the collector spoke to me, i realized that they're using some high harrasment words towards me. And i honestly got scared by them and i also, got a letter from them too. They try to threaten me to pay them in 3 days. I felt like my life was over! I didn't know what to do. but try to find a job during school time. but i came up with a solution. I contacted a debt helper. and i asked some questions about them and answer my question with some good loving lol
even though i may have some bad credit. But i won't able to buy a house until when im 40! lol. But! i do try my best to get the money to pay the debt off.
However, I'm suprised that they don't have the licsinsed to collect debt in Canada. Even though how hard to try to threaten to get it from you. They won't able too! unless you have a home or a high valve of assest to use a jugdetment towards you. Rather then that. MJR are full of people who on a commission trying to get money from you!
I mean if you feel like you got no place to go for help? Trust me! There's many resources that can help you with this painful problem. So, Don't give up! Everybody has money problems! So, remember... Stay postive and be strong!
Is your name Jason Rice? You certainly sound as if there's a close connection between the two of you if not. Regardless, perhaps you should do something more productive with your life such as scraping dead animals off the highway - or perhaps just standing out in front of a moving car so that we can keep our medical staff trained.
MJR Collection agency keeps calling here. They are calling for a person who does not live here any more.MJR has been told that the person does not live here and not to call back to our number. They have been calling for almost a year with different agents calling. The last agent to call. Call yeatersday Jan 12/09 and was rude, harrasing, and threatened to keep calling. She did exactly what she said she would she called again today Jan13/09 @ 8:53am. If this is not harrasment I don't know what is. By now everyone @ MJR should know that the person they arte looking for. Has not lived here for quite a while. Plus MJR employees and management should know by now that they are not suppose to call our number 519-846-2925.
