I just got the same message from this number & they knew my name i called my cell phone carrier & had them block the number because the message said they were my cell phone carrier & when i called them they said they didnt call

But, but, but, I'm not a Verizon customer!
It's because of crap like this, and sending me junk mail on big thick plastic cards (very UNgreen), and advertising on Hummers, and adding a charge for long distance service (not the calls themselves) then taking it off when I complain, then adding it back when I'm not watching that I lost my loyalty to Verizon years ago.
Yep, got this call too. I am 10 days late or so with my Verizon paymnet, so that might be it. But those late payment calls can come from any variety of different numbers. so i just ignored, and will pay bill later today
I think it's a scam. I got a call from this guy who said he was from Verizon wireless and that I owed a "minimum" payment to avoid having my phone turned off. I gave him a card number and hung up. I got distracted and didn't think about the fact that I didn't get a text message 3 seconds after I hung up the phone. This ALWAYS happens when I pay over the phone with the real verizonwireless. When I realized that, I logged on and checked (more than 24hr later). No payment was registered to my account. I quickly canceled my credit card. DO NOT PAY ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU and says they are from Verizon wireless unless they can verify acct number and the amount of the last payment (or two) you made. If they are about to cut your service you will be redirected when you make a call (to anyone).
