I actually picked this one up, it was a Robocall letting me know that my student debt relief was flagged for a special promotional discount and to press 1 to talk to someone and 2 to decline the offer...... I have no student debt.
I answered... robo call about being selected to receive a special Honeywell thermostat. Hit 1 to get a person. Man answered, but said his name was Jenny - foreign call center. Told them I was on the do not call list and to take my name off their list. He said, " I will not" and hung up on me.
Whenever I answer an unknown number I say, “Thank you for calling State Farm this is Jake may I help you?” If it’s a sales call from a real person they either hang up or apologize for calling a “business”. Once I got a laugh and the girl asked if I was wearing Khakis!
caller id = BA Alarm; left no message. I blocked the number. It's a scam / fraud of some sort. Legitimate businesses don't violate DNC to solicit business. They don't cold call potential customers either. Solicitation costs are far too high for legitimate businesses to function this way.
