Anyway, I got the call as well. My guess is that it's the usual Fraternal Order of Police routine. Our local PD and Sheriff have both advised against giving these callers any money and to donate locally.
The Do Not Call list doesn't stop charity calls, political calls, banks, credit card companies or debt collectors from calling you. You have to tell them during the call. Likewise, posting here won't stop them from calling. This is a site for people to share information about problem phone numbers.
If you have told them to stop and they are still calling, contact your state attorney general's office and file a complaint there are well as at the main Do Not Call website maintained by the FTC.
