Anyway, I got the call as well. My guess is that it's the usual Fraternal Order of Police routine. Our local PD and Sheriff have both advised against giving these callers any money and to donate locally.
These calls are all coming through VOIP numbers -- more than likely from out of the US. Name comes through with the letter V, then a long string of numbers, but the number itself is a scammed Florida one. I got 2 calls within five minutes from 941-220-1079 but the 'V122334455666677' numbers were different but obviously following a sequence. So, in other words -- DON'T ANSWER!
