"Unknown Number" calling a Maryland number, from California area code and exchange, claiming to raise money for the Maryland Democratic Party. Why donate to the Maryland Democratic Party if it's exporting its business (and jobs) to a California Call center.
They were calling for a party donation. I have previously contributed, so I guess this telemarketing call is what I paid for. (um, Sorry?) Caller was polite.
left message---- " Hello, this is Tony , please call me back at 702-960-8235 . i want to go over your account...... LOL........... ok, "TONY" lets go over "MY ACCOUNT " that wasnt identified or disclosed with what company...... WHAT A MORON!
I call back after hours (using *67 to block my number). I hear "We're sorry your call can not be completed at this time. Please, hang up and try your call again later. Thank You." Then it hangs up.
So they don't seem to be able to be called back. Smells like a SCAMMER impersonating the Environmental Defence Force.
After numerous calls from this number, I finally answered expecting a scam. They wouldn’t talk to me but asked for my wife. After a lengthy discussion about Democratic Party, the guy began pressing for a donation and ultimately wanted a credit card number. He gave up after being told we don’t give out that information.
