I recieve multiple calls form this caller each day, different numbers and each time I ask them to remove me from their call list. I receive a call from a new number, same company. I can barely hear them from all the noise in the background, plus english is not their first language. When I try to call the numbers back, they do not work because they are illegally piggy backed onto an IP address in the United States and the IP address is from another country.
I got a call with the caller id of MINNESOTA 952-392-9909 and the caller said who they were and I could not understand their English. I was finally able to understand they were calling from .... IRS in Washington DC and did I have a lawyer for the audit. I know nothing about an audit and they asked me to hold for a supervisor, the supervisor with just as bad of trash English and I told him to identify themselves again and the line went dead. I called the number back and got an automated system that directed me to press 1 for English then it wanted me to enter my card number followed by the pound key. I pressed the # key and got no response it asked for the card number again, no response to the # key only so I pressed the 0 to see what would happen. You have entered an invalid number please try again and the line went dead.
Our home phone received a call from this number this morning. When I called back, I got the same automated system as did "Tom", above, did on June 17th, with the same result- a request to enter my "card number", and no further responses when I attempted pressing 0 or other entries. Google Map links on the site http://www.localcallingguide.com/lca_prefix.php?switch=MPLSMNCDDS1 lists this and SEVERAL other numbers for "Global Crossing Local Services, Inc,- MN" as originating from an address located just south of 49th Avenue North and Bryant Avenue North in the Lind Bohanon neighborhood of North Minneapolis. If this is accurate, the fact that so many different phone lines are identified with this company at this address strongly suggests a shady, suspicious and likely fraudulent activity at the heart of these calls and this business. If you also received a call from this number, please report your experiences here, to the BBB (which has given this company an 'F' in the past) and to the State Attorney General's office if possible. These people would seem to warrant an investigation into their activities.
I have also filed a complaint on the Federal Trade Commission website and confirmed that my home phone # is on the national Do Not Call list. Please do the same.
