Yes, yet another new number for them! I've now collected 10 of them and I know there will be more. I will never pick up the phone with these numbers (nor any that I do not recognize) but I always come to this site to check.
Just got my third call in five days from "Portfolio Recovery," and they never leave a message. Have used three numbers so far: 954-606-9402, 859-586-9557, and 817-500-4360.
It occurs to me that the Caller ID might be spoofed, since they never leave a message. There is a form on the Portfolio Recovery website to tell them they have the wrong person, and stop calling. I have just tried this, with a disposable e-mail address of course. <:-o
Not only thank goodness for whoever invented caller I.D., answering machines, etc., but how about the biggest cheer of all for "800 notes!!!" Never a charge, no personal info to input, etc. to find out who is calling constantly -- like the Portfolio dirtbags. More and more people reading these notes and ignoring the morons at Portfolio with their endless phone numbers and area codes. IF YOU DON'T RECOGNIZE AREA CODE OR NUMBER AS SOMEONE YOU KNOW, LET IT GO!! If important, they will leave message with legit number to call back.
They don't leave a message on your answering machine because they don't want it to count as their legal daily "1" call limit. By calling and not replying to a machine or not answering at all they will call you multiple times a day, each from a different spoofed phone number until someone picks up the phone. Then, you won't get another call until the next day.
Sandra aka sandy Peterson had my land line number prior to me I get nagging annoying calls from portfolio recovery for her time after time naturally she is in collection for her debts in the state of NJ but they just don.t stop harassing me.
