Yes, yet another new number for them! I've now collected 10 of them and I know there will be more. I will never pick up the phone with these numbers (nor any that I do not recognize) but I always come to this site to check.
Yes, I too just got - another - call from Portfolio recovery. The caller ID shows the number. But every time they call and either the answering machine or I pick up the line the blasted caller hangs up. If they are not going to talk, why bother calling? It's like the prank calls that teens used to do back before caller ID was invented. This is harassment on a whole new level.
OK, I just looked up these idiots on line and found a BBB Fraud report listing for them. The State of N.Y. has taken action against them and they in return have agreed without admitting guilt there-to to stop making calls to N. Y. I think that's - as they say - 'nuff said.
These idiots call at lease 7 times a week day, night, week-end doesn't matter to them. I sure it is probably a machine set up to call at certain times. Wish there was a way to stop it.
