Something called United Check Recovery Systems.   Can't find the company under Google search.  Complaints at other sites suggest that this is a kitchen-table debt scamming operation.    They are trying to scare people into paying them something.  They are also apparently throwing around IRS code sections dealing with properties exempt from levy rules.  What's the point of that?    A private debt collector would not be able to use IRS codes or regulations in the collection of debts.   Mike and Dan sound like shills.  I don't know that Sarah is talking about.  No HR will garnish wages without a court order.  Period.   Any request to garnish wages from the IRS would come on official IRS stationery.  No, IRS does not need court judgment.  But any garnishment paper or request  would include references to all codes, regulations and administrative hearings in the case and the taxpayer would be mentioned.  The taxpayer would have a long paper trail and a lot of contacts with IRS before such a garnishment took place.

In any event, writing a NSF or "hot'  check is a crime in most states, if done intentionally.  If so, the bank will notify the police and police will interview the writer.      Debt collectors have no police powers.  They cannot arrest anyone.

This is an unbelievable scam if it is what it appears to be.  Don't know where it is originating from.

IRS would notify you if it was an official communication.   There'd be a long paper trail before any garnishment or levy took place.  The IRS always tries to settle with taxpayer long before the issue comes up.   You're being scammed.

You want to tell us, precisely what sort of paperwork?  Because you aren't making any sense.
