I got the exact same thing today. Interesting however, as we just bought two new computers from Best Buy in Salem. Any connection to your new computer purchases?
Just went thru the call with Roger... He had my code for windows..then he took me to a page when would give him access to my operating system...didn't go for it. Scary that he had my code though....told him eventually to send me something in writing and I would get back to him.... Problem for me was though my machine's acting up....But thank you guys for you comments
I received a call a couple of days ago from "edward" with the same thing, telling me my computer was going to crash. How do they have our IP address? I didn't go on to even confirm this, my concern is we recently signed up for a telephone through TimeWarner a week ago and upgraded to high-speed internet, and the tech guy went onto my computer and typed in an ip address so that we could set up a new wireless id and password.

I've been called by this guy twice in the past week, wanting me to mess with my operating system. When I said I was on the Do Not Call List, he argued with me and said I wasn't. I've meanwhile verified the I am on the list still. I smelled a scam immediately. I hope someone is checking into this guy. When I asked why he was spying on my computer, he conveniently got silent. When I asked for his phone number, he was evasive, but eventually gave me this Oregon phone number (his heavy accent and the bad connection tells me he was actually probably in India or one of Arab nations). I am even more suspicious because it appears he has his phone number blocked from being detected. WATCH OUT FOR THIS GUY!!!!!!!!
