Got two calls from these a*******hs this morning; both on my cell AND land line. I just verified that all my numbers were set up on the DNC registry last week. Unfortunately, I don't think you can block some of these political robocalls, and we have months to go before the election. Yikes!
I Don't Answer Any Calls That I'm Not Familiar With The Number. Not Returning Any Calls Not Pressing 1 To Have My Number Removed. To Many Scams Going Around!
Just got a call, didn't answer after checking here first. >_< been getting so many political calls it's really annoying now. Would be easier if they didn't cycle through phone numbers as I have to block each one manually.
I've been getting these calls daily, more on my cell, but now it has progressed to my home phone as well. I just got a call from this number on 03/29/2012 at 11:45 AM, here in the Sacramento area.
I no longer even answer the calls from these unrecognized number because I think I have caught onto part of their scam. When you answer the call, sometimes all you get is someone hanging up on you, and other times you'll get the typical voice recording of being offered a lower interest rate which is "due to expire" unless you speak to an adviser. Many of us have gone down that road and when we are finally connected to a LIVE individual, our typical nature is to start asking who the hell this is or what company they are calling from, and then that is when they either hang up on you or get rude with you before hanging up, and never identifying themselves.
I do believe that in most cases, when you even answer the call or if you call back the number, you are basically only confirming that yours is a working number for more of these calls down the line. These [***] keep changing their numbers. I had already been registered on the National Do Not Call List, but obviously these people do not abide by those rules, which is why you keep seeing so many random numbers.
I have managed to "play the game" so to speak with these people. When I have gotten the recording, I have Pressed 1 to speak to someone and allowed to guide the discussion. I tell them that I do have tons of debt and that the interest rates are "just so high", but I do not press them for "Who are you!?!" So what they want is for you to give them your number in order to supposedly check it. Obviously they are on a phishing scam. NEVER GIVE ANY IDENTIFYING INFORMATION about yourself like your Social Security Number or any valid credit card number.....DO NOT!!! Then when you have them in conversation, just go off on them and get totally obscene. See if you can ruin their day for as much they ruined your time for bugging you.....hahaha...they deserve it!!! They are crooks!!!
